One thing that people will start moaning about as the time comes to the closure of the CDMA service is the lack of Onebill that lots of people I know are on including my wife. People who mainly have a mobile for the occasional call and who may not do much text. Their only option is a plan (starting at $15) or prepay which expires at the end of 6 months unless it gets topped up.

I am told that most customers on the old freetime 300 and 600 plans where not using all of their minutes in fact a big chunk of customers were not even using half of their included minutes. (My partner was in that boat)

Of the people that were using all of those off peak minutes most of them were using most of those minutes on one or two numbers and can get unlimted calls to those numbers using my favrouites.

As for onebill. If you are hardly using your phone and do not want to pay $15 per month on it then I have to ask why are you buying a new phone? The CDMA network will still be around for some years yet.

I've had several dealings with the Wellington, Lambton Quay branch, and the guys there have been really helpful. The manager chap went out of his way to hook me up with all the bits & pieces and no-one tried to BS me at any stage. Very pleased with them!

ajw: I am very surprised that nobody has commented on the price hikes if you decide to upgrade your phone on to the XT network. In my case if I upgraded to a similar plan on the XT network I would be looking at a price hike of a extra $50 per month for 20 less minutes per month. Why isn't anybody complaining, do mobile consumers love to be ripped off.?

Could you please take this discussion to another thread? It's clearly off topic here.
