Bump.

Telecom don't want to make this issue a high priority unless other people report the same issue to them. If you have an e75 it'd be great if you can test out your data connection and see if it drops regularly, taking the whole network registration with it, and then call 0800 550 120 and log a support ticket.

:-)

I've had my E75 since 6th June, and have had no problems since...'til a few days ago. On a couple of ocassions, I've had an incoming call drop off when I've answered it: I push the normal answer key and there's nothing at the other end.

The other issue that's developed is the "Private" blocked-Caller-ID message I'm getting, even though I downloaded and installed from Nokia the Advanced Comms Manager which allows me to filter out calls with blocked Caller_ID. When I first installed this, everything worked perfectly: if a caller with blocked id called, they would received a Number Unavailable tone, and I don't even know about it. However, over the last few days, I've been logging missed calls from blocked caller-id calls ("Private")....

Will test the data connections over the weekend and report.

just curious, but why would you want to block every single call who's number you don't have?

There's a difference between callers whose numbers I don't have but which still show up when they call me, and callers who choose NOT to have their Caller_ID sent.

It's been my experience that those callers who choose to block their Caller_ID are generally callers I don't wish to converse with: i.e. telemarketers, copying-machine sales people, etc. One or two of my friends used to block theirs until I explained to them why they've not able to get me since I went to XT.

Imo, those who do not want their ID sent do not deserve the courtesy of having their call answered!

We have asked Nokia to investigate these E75 and related problems further. We are still waiting on their analysis.

Is that real nokia software? I have tried a couple of thrid party softwares that do the same thing on N95 and found that they often didnt work, or would lock the phone up when trying to answer it.

Perhaps thats causing some problems for you?

I downloaded it from Nokia, and had no problems at all when I installed it. It's only been over the last few days when I've experienced the dropped calls and blocked Caller_ID "Private" call logging. It's not a problem as the blocked callers still don't get through to me which is what I want. The Advanced Comms Manager is worth it just to block out these phone pests..

There's a nice little feature in the programme which allows you to send a txt message to your caller (if on cellular) if you can't answer the call. I haven't found yet whether I can have a voice message telling the blocked callers why their calls have been rejected, but I haven't played with the app much..

Btw...have been using data connection around Grey Lynn, Mt Roskill, Lincoln Road and home (Howick) without any problems on the E75.
