I picked one up at lunch time today.  I think my wife will probably confiscate it for her laptop though...

I skinned mine. poor little stick..

But as you can see, there was actually a reason behind this.

Was it worth doing that?

Picked one up this afternoon. The Orb rep said they'd only done about 50 in that store since yesterday.

Does that aerial fit? Where did you get it from?

Not really but I wanted to see how the innards were constructed anyway, I pull everything to bits.

When I spotted the RF jack, I thought I may as well just drill a small hole for possible further use since the RF connectors were a common style as per the Nokia ones.

DISCLAIMER:
As the RF jack is not accessible by a user, the RF connector is most probably very fragile and not intended for customer use. If anyone tries this, you are totally at your own risk if the connector comes off the board.

I now just need to grab only the drivers and make a DUN connection so it can be used "Lite"

On the MF636 the RF jack is more accessible, requires no dismantling, just peel back the IMEI label and there is a small sticky cover which just pulls off so possibly we are able to get aerials?

Have emailed cellutronics to find out if they are able to source one...

Aaroona: Downfall is, the stupid device doesnt work with Mac OSX 10.6 64bit =|

the fact its not compatiable with 10.6 64bit is a HUGE downfall.

Telecom only tested it with the OSes that matter Tongue out

antbs: Anyone have a Telecom account but doesn't want a Tstick? Tell me! :)

Does your beloved Orcon not do anything similar? Wink

I'm on a roll this afternoon...

I thought I had held 6 and 4 at startup, I was fairly sure, but apparently it dosent work on 64 bit so possibly not...

does anyone know what chipset is inside this?

Im thinking sierra or Haiwai or whatever is might have a 64bit driver.

The guy i spoke to on 0800-Djuice told me to try that.

I got mine, second in line at the Terrace store, but let my boss take the first one, only waited about 5 minutes after registering my name on my way to work

Haha I did exactly the same thing and also dismantled my colleagues laptop(who was away sick) and stole one of his WWAN wires :) woohoo

I noticed about a 3 fold speed increase with the RF connections, but yeah it is fragile, i had to push it down gently with a flat head

I'll be implanting mine into my 1005HA with a soldered on USB hub and bluetooth.  Since it only has one mini-PCIe

I'll be getting my second Tstick on Monday with my parents account, probably for my mum, if she doesn't use it, then I'll give it to my girlfriend :)

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.
