Yes, there's is. Ask for the NZ$10/month plan if you want casual rates and no call plan (voice still available, but full price).

Best option here would be to buy it outright (no contract), on open term, Go Onebill as the voice plan, then choose an appropriate data plan. Then you get $10 text if required, reasonable voice rates for casual usage, and you can disconnect / change at any time.

johnr: No Video calling on the Telecom handset and the jasjar can do data and a voice call at the same time. Surf the web send Emails while talking to the person.

Tell me who surfs, emails and video calls all at the same time...?

hehe, if there is such option, then i would! imagine video calling while surfing for the information on about the conversation and multitasking with emails... :-)

that sounds good. ideally i want to continue my current Vodafone Sim2 for voice, then have another Sim for data-only (or in Telecom's case, data-only with side options like $10txt or "Push the Button"). However, I also like to be able to use my data-only device as modem for laptop.

hmmm... Apache with wmodem, or Jasjar, or WM5 PDA+3G phone (like N70 or E70)... dilemma! *LOL*

Disenchanted I surf the web (using V800 as modem) and talk on my mobile all the time. I find it really good and I am sure many other people would as well. You can not video call and move net traffic at the same time but voice calls not issue.

Mmmm I suppose that would be an advantage if you wanted your phone to be your only device.

Not an issue for people who use a data card. (Which i think i will keep using in the interests of battery life etc)
