keastm: I initially tried a straight decimal conversion of the hex ESN which the 2degrees website accepted but I was subsequently notified that they were unable to process the transfer of my W531 027 number to my new handset using that number. Success came when I used the conversion website I first posted and entered that 11 digit decimal version of my ESN into the 2degree website. They completed the transfer in about an hour or so this evening.
The 11-digit ESN is actually two different numbers; a 3-digit manufacturer code followed by an 8-digit device code. I'm guessing that these "chunks" need to be converted independently (which the online converter would have done for you).
All *Telecom owned* stores have a tool available which will convert a hexidecimal ESN to a decimal ESN or vice-versa. Dealers such as Leading Edge, ORB or Total Nerworks *should* also have access to this.
The in-store Telecom system that accepts hex ESNs will automatically convert these to decimal format (on-screen infront of the CSR), too.
