Well, we aren't asking for an unlimited plan,
Just fairer data caps, In this day and age of bandwidth hungry applications, web pages growing in size, social networking taking off, youtube , gaming, streaming TV and radio etc etc
The list grows daily yet the data caps stay the same.

I shudder to think what its going to be like when fibre to the home takes effect..

It'll be - oops sorry, you have used up your data cap in one day now you are on dialup on fibre - sheesh!

Somewhere in my wishful thinking mind, I thought maybe, just maybe Telecom would get some new plans together, but in the end no surprises here. Don't get me wrong, Telecom speeds are great and the connections are mostly steadfast but I do feel like they limit this country and even in situations like this, take us back in time. There is not much progression for residential broadband when Telecom are involved.

According to the letter "If we don't hear from you by 13 August 2010,we will automatically  move you over to our Adventure Broadband by 8 October."

So the end date  for big time is 8/10/2010 I think(correct me if I'm wrong)

Sounds like you'll be moved at the end of your billing period that ends in that period. (For me, that'd be the 25th of September)

i think the contract was for 12 months but had a clause in the fine print , if we decide to stop the plan we will give you 30 days notice , theres no disconnection fees

Got my letter today. From one extreme to another! Why can't they find some middle ground 200GB, 500GB managed traffic at a reasonable price. That way they cut out the abusers pulling down 1TB/Month. Ok Maybe 200GB is considered abuse? Well what about about 100GB at a reasonable price??? 40GB for $80!!! That's a bit much. I'd like to see $1/GB overage too. A dollar per GB sounds like a nice round number! Is that really not viable for them? Or is there just not enough competition.

I like the idea of staying with Telecom because I think they have the most international bandwidth at there disposal and even on big time I found speeds VERY good. Often pulling down stuff at 1.3MB/sec and yes that's MB not Mb!

Come on Telecom! Show us a decent a datacap at a decent price!

stop downloading so much?

You may not realize but the average BB user downloads less then 5GB a month.

at 200GB a month it is pretty apparent that you are down/uploading excessively. You might have to go pay for your illegally downloaded bluray's :)
