sbiddle: All Nokia phones have the model under the battery cover. For models that have multiple frequency options a -1 -2 or -3 after the model indicates the bands.
The 1700Mhz band indicates the USA model which will probably only work on the 1700/2100 network used there. These phones will not work on the 2100Mhz networks in NZ.
This isn't always the case.
As has already been discovered by the OP, we at times will use a different RM-XXX code for different variants instead of the -1/2/3
