Damager: sounds like the OP's C6 is the generic 3G 900/2100 version, which means it will only work on Telecom's 2100 frequency in the main centres. Outside of that, it won't get a signal.
The XT variant needs to have 3G 850, Normally referred to as the "NAM" version which is specifically for North America.
The Mobicity version is guaranteed to be the generic version.
nzmate: Thanks BrentR
May I suggest that the Nokia NZ website be adjusted, maybe a little note beside
WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 (Only RM-612)

I'm Sure customers will appreciate that
Thanks

Dallas: Hi, thanks for your replies, I know it's a C6-00 but not sure about RM612, will need to have a look when he gets home from work. (Where would I find that).
But other than buying a new XT sim to see if it will work (undamaged, or working properly), will he need to stay with 2 Degrees or Vodafone? Can't believe though that it'll take 2 Degrees and not XT. But I guess that is the way it is. I just wish the website had put on there that it wasn't XT compatible and it would have saved the poor kid spending his money on a phone that doesn't work with XT.
