While it's [completely and utterly not] interesting to hear about your opinions regarding the group of companies that comprise Telecom, your opinions are off topic :-)

If you wish to continue them, please create another thread - which I'm sure will get locked.

Lias: FWIW I know many ex Telecom employees, and they pretty much all agree Telecom is a behemoth of institutionalized corruption. Thats across a wide range to from linesmen to call centre, geni, computerland, and even middle management..

Corruption? Now that's a strong accusation. If no evidence is available then please don't even mention it here.

Hearsay is not evidence.

Few have a record as bad as Telecom.

Most of the bad record is from people who no longer work there.

So the people who canceled the big itme plan, and didnt allow existing customers to stay on it have all been fired?
Every person responsible for the XT debarcle, and choosing Alcatel Lucent in the first place has been fired?

huh.  the cancellation of big time.  i've seen that happen time and again with *other* ISPs, before telecom gave it a crack.  given that telecom was the only one left offering such a plan, you should be applauding them for giving it a try after all others failed.

and XT?  a couple of days of outages for some people... sure, that was bad for the people affected, but i have been on vodafone for 3 years and struggle to hold a phone call both at home, and at office every day.  i would have happily traded a couple of bad days to get 100% uptime for the rest of the time!

Woosh..... That is all I have to say.

Just remember Telecom are not the only one to pull a unlimited plan. They are just the latest one to do so.

Telecom had an absolute monpolopy for years, and absolute power corrupts absolutely as we all know.

Legal corruption, whilst not what I meant is something they are probably not guilty of. Moral corruption however is a diffrent story. I genuinely believe the company is morally corupt. They are fighting desperately to keep as much of their old monpoly as they can, and what they cant keep they are trying to undermine. Does anyone in this thread really think Telecom is doing this for the good of NZ, or the good of its customers even? I challenge any of you to say it with a straight face.

Anyways as has been pointed out this is pretty much off topic so I'll shut up now.

So you would rather see Telecom be broken up and vanish leaving the the telecom market here open to abuse from large Australian or British companies..  If so your nuts..

More data caps & cheaper connections is what is desired.
