I've been seeing this since late last week. It's maddeningly inconsistent. I've changed back to using Xtra's DNS from OpenDNS, rebooted router etc but it makes no difference.

For me Youtube is either working or it resets the connection without displaying a page, Facebook and Twitter have no icons or images, and many of the ad networks aren't loading. Geekzone pages take several refreshes until I get one that doesn't want to load something from pubads.g.doubleclick.net.

At the same time, my work connections to an iiNet network in Brisbane have been fine, and several large downloads (one from VMware and one from msdn.microsoft.com) have gone quickly as well.

Broadband is working for me now, but it seems a bit tetchy somehow. Like a page will load (or seem to load), but the loading animation it still going round and round - so it's not quite finishing somehow. I dunno..

I have called telecom Tech support and she said there appears to be a problem still, some people can't access some international sites and or very slow to access and they are working on it. I also need a bit of help , if someone who's is not with telecom please try 2 sites for me?

www.neowin.net

www.smallworlds.com

if you could i'd very much appreciate it.

Thank You :)

EDIT: And let me know if they load fine or not, sorry

Interesting that their network status messages do not reflect any issues with their broadband network..

I have telecom broadband, so can only confirm as you already know that neither of those sites you posted work on telecom broadband.

I am sure they will likely work with any reliable internet service provider (except telecom)

Thank You gmball for your reply and checking those 2 sites. I also took a look at there status page and nothing, surprising that's for sure. For me personally, this problem started approx 9pm last night been like that ever since. I do hope telecom sort it out fairly quickly.

kneecap, I tried neowin.net for you and it wasn't loading for me on telecom either.
However, if you go to a proxy service (I used hidemyass.com) and enter the address, it will load.

Also, plugging the URL into downforeveryoneorjustme.com confirms that the site is up.

[edit] the site seems to load without a proxy now. Maybe the telecom gods heard :)

I have been experiencing issues ever since the 13th aug when I changed from big time to pro. Still for the life of me can't understand why pro would be less than quarter the speed of big time?

Thanks for your reply. Neowin worked fine:) I tried smallworlds but no go yet:( I also went to that site and both sites show they are up. I guess it's just a matter of waiting till telecom can fix this. (hidemyass) nice name lol

Neowin loaded, but very very slowly - took nearly a minute to get to the page, and it is still loading after 4 minutes and still counting.

Smallworlds will not load at all.

Seems to be an issue with telecom.

Check...

http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/www.smallworlds.com

I was trying to use the down or just me site yesterday morning, but that was not loading either.

The problem has lessened, but still there.

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 14,0 / 24,0

Thanks wreak90. That's what i get also with neowin, very very slow and sw won't load.
It is a telecom problem for sure then. if anyone from telecom reading this, please give us all an update on the progess .

Thank You everyone for trying those sites out for me :)

I can see Neowin not too bad, Smallworlds takes forever to load but gets there in the end. Watching the individual requests with Firebug shows that quite a lot for things like CSS or JS files get "Aborted" before they're done, so something's not right still.

Julianz, do you mean something not right with the site itself or it been a telecom caching problem. international problem to some sites? I'm not sure what you mean by css and js files, bit clueless there

Some sites I go to still won't load. Why do they have to screw with something that was working fine? Is it that the devices like Tivo are putting too much strain on overseas traffic, therefore they're trying to cache as much as they can locally? Hard to say.
