c71931f: Apparently there's no 2100MHz coverage in Nelson, even tho a originally-vodafone phone works on XT & that only has 2100MHz, not 850MHz ...
freitasm:quickymart: You imported it to NZ or bought it overseas and came here? Did you check the specs before buying it? People can get caught out by this.
As a rule (from my experience): if you buy a WCDMA phone from America, it'll work on XT.
If you buy a WCDMA phone from Europe it'll work on Vodafone.
If you buy a WCDMA phone from AT&T in the U.S. it will work on XT. However if you buy it from T-Mobile in the U.S. it won't work on XT.

BarTender: Here is something I have been working on:
http://sites.google.com/site/wooshinfo/dump.kml
Which means you can load it straight up in Google Maps:
However there is a limit of 1000 element in Google Maps, so I am going to split them into the relevant sites, since both Vodafone and Telecom have over 1000 sites per frequency.

kyhwana2: Don't bother going on XT if you only have 2100mhz.. Are you just worried about the txt packs or do you use a lot of data as well?

I just want to be able to txt people on XT, im not fussed if it means I have to go on a plan on vodafone or 2degrees if 2100 coverage on XT isnt even worth thinking about.
I never call anyone and im not so worried if I cant use 3G internet etc, just as long I can send at least 2000 - 3000 txts a month for under $20 :)
