Ummm ... ?? Not sure if I get you. You want to go back to the original ROM. No? If you got the phone from Telecom thats the link I sent you. I'm not sure what you mean by unlocked. This phone will work on any network that is WCDMA 850.
New Zealand has Vodafone and 2 Degrees as the gsm carriers. Telecom XT is WCDMA. If you need a rom for your phone check if its a 850mhz or 900mhz and get the appropriate firmware
So the Telecom phone is not locked onto the network. The radio on it is configured to connect to the WCDMA network. But this is controlled by the firmware, but you can only use the LG Update Tool to modify the radio.
As @blindnz said, find a ROM that has the same radio set in it, I think there even one in this post somewhere, or if you pop across to the OpenEtna forum you can follow blindnz's post on how to work out the link to your specific firmware.
I got 2.2 running early this week, pretty sweet. Most happy with it. Just upgraded to the new OpenEtna System image 6.1. Seems to be working a bit faster.
If anyone is having trouble with not seeing XT, i.e. it appears your phone is using 900 MHz instead of 850MHz? I had the same issue, (and yes I did use the right firmware).
However, there is a way around it. There's a post on openetna forum about accessing the secret menu in 2.2.
Just dial *#*#4636#*#* That'll take you to the 2.2 secret menu. Choose 'Phone Information', then press the menu button (i.e the big hardware button). That'll show a different menu where you can change the phone frequency. I found 'AUS2' worked for me, but the original poster said europe worked for them. I guess try a few different ones and see what works for you.
Huge thanks to all the contributors in this post. It helped me take my wife's phone from 1.5 to 2.2.1.
I've been keeping an eye on things on the OpenEtna site, and have now updated the phone to Android 2.3.4. Yep, the little GW620 is now running the latest Android build. Not only is it running it, it's stable and running fast.
I've used winflasher to update (very easy). Follow the link for the software, there is a simple tutorial link when you start the program.
