Middle of the day, it'd have to be the blue shift at the moment.

Well, some of those chaps from Weta would have the resources & know-how to build a reasonable cell-jammer.

Not that I'm suggesting that anyone would do such a thing. Data is still very patchy but seems to be better now than it was a few hours ago.

Currently no data connection on our XT mobiles here in Wellington CBD.

On a semi-related topic, I would seriously love it if @TelecomNZ could be kept for just service status updates, or another account get created for this purpose.
Following it in order to keep up-to-date about outages (and it is excellent for this purpose) is completely defeated by the random chit-chat. Not sure if this is the place to air such concerns but that's my little rant anyway.

EDIT: And I ticked email notification on this post, which is kinda pointless since I have no ActiveSync right now Undecided

Indeed, the series of tubes allowing the internet trucks to reach my phone are quite clogged once more.

I think someone has yanked the chain and the pipes have been flushed now.

I'm still entirely lacking connectivity. Which for some reason is causing my phone to consume its battery at a simply astronomical rate. Bah.

If you don't travel outside the country much you could just switch the phone to 3G mode only. This will prevent it from searching for 2G networks to roam - which it can't use anyway - and save battery life.
