That response will be from the bluecoat's saying that they are getting empty responses from the origin server. That could have happened at any point.
Telecom may need to perform a cache purge as the response is most likely a cached one that isnt clearing for some reason.

I have just checked again and it is still unavailable. Is there anything I can do (call Telecom?), or do I just have to wait?

I called Telecom and was told, "they will look in to it".

In the meantime, I will set up a temporary website seem I have control of the domain name in this instance.

I am still having trouble accessing my Wordpress blog.  I am NO computer geek, just a happy blogger, but since yesterday I haven't been able to access my blog at healthskills.wordpress.com  I would love to know what to do to get into it again - I did wonder if it's something to do with broadband connections in New Brighton, but hope someone on here can help.
Thanks very much.
BTW the problem remains on chrome, firefox and IE

Until its fixed by Telecom you could use a proxy to access your site. Be careful with logging in though via a proxy, if you need to try to find a reliable highly rated one with ssl (look at proxy.org).

Do a bit of research on proxy.org as mentioned above - it provides a list of servers that you can use to access websites from (proxy). Generally, you choose a proxy server, and enter the URL that you want to visit.

After another 30 minutes on a Telecom support call, and being told to clear my browser cache, power cycle my router, leave the building and come back in, yada yada, I get told to contact WordPress.

I guess I should have paid for web hosting in the first place.

While I can access my blog (and the www.canterburyearthquake.org.nz one too) FROM WORK I still can't access it from home.  So now do I hang on the end of a phone to Telecom now, to be told I should talk to Wordpress too?!
Oh, did they tell you to go pick the coffee beans, roast them, grind them up and brew the coffee too?

Definately you should host it yourself. I think you may find part of the problem is, that I beleive telecom use a cache farm for caching international websites viewed by their cusomters, so what you are viewing/ or not able to view, could be cached, and may need clearing. I have had this problem before, and had to ask telecom to clear the cache to get the problem fixed.

If the website is viewable on every other ISP, apart from telecom, then they shouldn't be telling you to contact wordpress.

Except, that *maybe* WordPress is blocking some of Telecom's address range?

I contacted WordPress and they responded immediately, and asked for more info but I have since heard nothing, and I still cannot connect from home (ADSL with static IP).  Maybe my email is blocked too :-)

I'm in the same boat - accessed my blog from work, can't access from home.  Deleted browser caches, turned modem and router on/off, opened a beer, drank, swore - and I STILL cannot get in.  I, too, have emailed Wordpress for help.  Glad to know I'm not the only one having trouble...
