Very nice, I'm still waiting for Chorus to cabinetise our cabinets. I'm also in Dannemora area ETM/BX. So looking forward to adsl 2+ speed.

GH33, you are the same situation as me, I am also in Dannemora but on ETM/BS, and a quick check on the Telecom wholesale website, it says ADSL2+ upgrade to my cabinet was completed this month but checked with my ISP (Xnet) who in turn checked with Telecom wholesale, they said there was no upgrade that had been carried out at my cabinet.

Might I suggest that works in the ChCh area have taken a precedence over normal work. At one stage the Navy took a frigate load of Chorus vans and staff from Auckland down to ChCh, many still there. As a result the expected cabinetisation timetable has gone out the door for a few weeks.

A slightly quieter time of the afternoon, just after 3PM:

LA

Very impressed with the ADSL2+ speeds so far, National constantly over 16Mbps, International up and down I guess dependent on time of day and congestion.

I will post up RFS for my cabinet ETM/BX when they get released. I will keep an eye on your one too ETM/BS. I suspect we might have to wait for a while to get our ones done and your cabinet might cabinetised before me :D

Just saw 2 Chorus techs at the my cabinet (ETM/BS), asked them about the ADSL2 upgrade, they confirmed that is what they are doing & that VDSL with also be turned on at the same time, yeeeeaaahhh! They said it may take effect in the next couple of weeks.

I am off to China for couple of weeks so hopefully when I get back it'll be on.

I saw 2 chorus vans outside of our cabinet too today, didn't question them as it was pouring down at that time. ETM/BX

Yarrg, I am so jealous guys.

I'm stuck out here in Swanson and can't even get ADSL - at all. "No ports available at the exchange".

I have a Wireless link to Farmside, but thats a crappy 1Mb/s, tops out at 30 Gb per month, and is very expensve to boot.

The closest cabinet to me - MSY/CZ - has a nice red dot meaning not capable of ADSL at all. I keep checking the wholesale maps, hoping I'm in a dream and it will actually be upgraded to VDSL in the next 3 months, but I don't like my chances!

Enjoy your speed!

Cheers

Sorry to hijack the thread but this is something I've been meaning to get to the bottom of for a while myself. I'm in Christchurch off the St Albans exchange - if I look up my address on the Telecom Wholesale broadband maps website it says I am connected to the exchange itself rather than a cabinet, and that the exchange was upgraded to ADSL2+ in 2007. I'm probably about 2km from the exchange. My modem sync speed is 9.2Mbps down, 945kbps up -- is this what I should expect to get from a ADSL2+ connection 2km from the exchange? My modem reports the DSL connection type as "G.992.5 annex A" if that helps -- is that ADSL2+?

Cheers

Steve
