Most likely answer is that it has come from the '0253' area code in India, and the CID has not added the international prefix.

We had a similar situation at work where one of our numbers appeared to be calling randon NZ numbers. These people would ring back and get angry with us for phone spamming them etc. In the end we had to change the number.

There are a few VOIP providers out there in NZ that have no filtering on CallerID presentation from client devices, If I wanted to I could present a number as 111 or the whitehouse switchboard

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

This is a International call from country Djibouti when they 9 hours behind New Zealand so thats why they call you at 6am nz time

00 253 Country Code for Djibouti

No area code

886 5699 Local Number

because i get calls from Hong Kong is all ways shows with the first zero missing as this is the number if calling within Hong Kong and there are no area codes eg 0852 xxxx xxxx so when I call back i always need to add a zero in front eg 00852 xxxx xxxx

IIRC 025 was never eligible for number porting
