Had our broadband and several clients with Telecom broadband go down.  All back online now.  All ADSL customers and all in Auckland.

My ADSL went down here in Mt Maunganui.

Restored around 13:30.

It doesn't seem to have been DNS as I changed to another ISP and didn't fix it. Sounds like the international gateway. Probably some border routers not advertisting their routes or something like that.

Yes, I also had my Internet go down too. Has been up for about an hour now. I would be curious to know the cause. Also, I am on Vodafone DSL (iPhone wasn't working either, at the time).

And the official word off the Twitter feed:

http://www.telecom-media.co.nz/releases_detail.asp?id=3799

Telecom advises that a technical issue may have caused connectivity issues for some customers using mobile data and SMS, and Telecom residential broadband services

Services are now restored or returning to normal.

Mobile data and SMS services were intermittently affected from around 12.30pm today. XT voice has been working as normal.

Some Telecom residential broadband customers also experienced intermittent connectivity issues early this afternoon. Service was restored progressively from 1.30pm.

Any customers still experiencing connectivity issues should try restarting their handsets or modems.

These issues were caused by a technical issue that is being investigated. The network remains under close monitoring.

We apologise for any inconvenience to affected customers.

Seems Snap was also affected by this outage.
Lost connectivity around 12.25pm and was not restored until about 4.15pm.
DSL was still syncing just not authenticating with Snap's gear
