I note the on-net Skinny to Skinny offer ends 30 April 2012. Perhaps to differentiate yourself from your competitors this on-net offer could be extended or perhaps a certain amount of free on-net minutes given to each customer per month.

It would seem very clear from a marketing point of view that this offer only exists so end users will convince their friends to also move to Skinny.

As for other who want this entended to other networks - why would any telco in their right mind offer 1000 minutes of free calling to customers on another network? They may as well just offer a website handing out free $50 notes to anybody who wants one.

also, of course it's to get people to move their friends.
Worked for me, I called my best friend and told her to go and get a free sim off the internet, since she is pretty much their target market.
But oh i just realised she has a 2degrees phone and it's not going to work. Dammit.
oh well ill give her my old one :)

When I've been with Orcon and Black+White all calls to Vodafone mobiles would count as an on-network call. I'd assume it would work the same on XT?

When I've been with Orcon and Black+White all calls to Vodafone mobiles would count as an on-network call. I'd assume it would work the same on XT?

I wouldn't assume that at all - there is no way they'd want free calling to XT handsets, or everybody would be getting Skinny SIM's just for the free calling.

It makes no difference to the cost, but from a business point of view it makes a massive difference, and if you can't see how obvious that is then there clearly is no point discussing this further.

Quite clearly if a telco was giving away 1000 minutes of anytime any network calls providing you gave them $4 per week their network would be flooded with new subscribers. They'd also be losing a $hedload of money.
