All DNS lookups I do succeed, so don't think it's a DNS issue.
I have pages that partially load, so I would suspect a cache issue.

da5id: Having probs at the moment accessing google, yahoo & yahoo mail, blogger.com etc...

Anyone else?

Almost everything has been horrible for the past hour (20:00 - 20:50).

In the end I put my 2degrees SIM into an Android phone and went onto their 3G. It worked.....though my Telecom DSL connection appeared to start working again at about the same time.

Maybe a router somewhere blew up

I think it's a google cache issue as international sites work. Any site that use google analytics or any google service partially load

Stuff is hosted in NZ however they use google analytics

GregV: ditto, have filled out a fault report. GZ blog pages are fine, apart from links to things like googlesyndication.com etc.

Geekzone has been completely inaccessible at times in the past hour.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Telecom New Zealand
Please give the Helpdesk team a call if you are having issues this evening - as soon as we have any issues update, we'll tweet it

Never mind the rest of the customers (elderly using it for ease of billing) that dont know what twitter is.

Yep broke for me here in chch (telecom) - most local sites are working, but a australian teamspeak server is not responding, and a ton of other sites i.e. youtube not working. Reddit is however :-)

It's looking bumpy. Good for a minute or two then crap again.....but seems to be improving if I was going to hazard a trend at this point.

My daughter seems to be OK on Telecom DSL, though she says it's slow....and my desktop is still on 2Degrees Mobile (wifi tethered).

Interestingly I have had no trouble connecting to my VPS hosted in Texas but stuff.co.nz is intermittently slow, telecom is inaccessible at times and no problems at other times.
Hope the boffins sort it out soon or I'll have to log off and read a book...

The reason some New Zealand sites will be slow/fail to load is because some of these sites use google analytics and the like

Why does no one read.

Also my google cache guess was wrong as I can't www to my dedicated server in France either
