There was a Free Tivo deal going on quite recently but it only applies to non-employees so I didn't check it out.  If that would help seal the deal then PM me with your customer details and I can see if I can track down the person internally who was offering that deal.

I'm out of contract with Telecom too and umming and ahhing about switching my broadband to VDSL2 with Hosting Direct.  A Tivo would seal the deal for me too and I'd re-sign for another year.

I would most certainly sign in for another 12 months for a TiVo., otherwise I'm a free agent but will agree the main reason I haven't moved is a perception that something will go wrong.

Likewise I'm also a Telecom user long out of contract, but I've stayed there because I've actually received very good solid service from them for many years and the potential pain and hassle of a move elsewhere stops me from considering it.

However, it does irk me no end to be told there are no deals available to entice me to stay and to see new customers "off the street" getting better deals than someone who has been providing income for them for many years and who is happy to recommend Telecom to others.

Someone mention a free Tivo and people keep on PMing me. Smile

I've found the right person to speak with so anyone interested to see what else Telecom could do for you as an existing Telecom customer out of contract... PM me your Name/Account/Phone Number and I will pass your details through and the Customer Retention folks will look to get in contact with you and see what deals are on offer.

Edit: And just to confirm it doesn't mean you WILL get a Tivo.. It may still be on offer.  But the Customer Retention folks will talk about whats on offer.

Always worth a shot, thanks for the offer to forward details to the retention team, taken up.

Sorry, wasn't trying to create extra work for anyone. Just wanted to share the experience from the POV of a happy Telecom customer.

Well plambrechtsen, you're a credit to your company! Just had a call from your retention team, really nice guy, who offered me a choice of $10 credit per month or a free Tivo... thanks for the free Tivo. I look forward to being a Telecom customer for another 12 months as of today :-D

Shucks Embarassed I just like to help customers where I can (along with all other Telecom staff I've ever met while working here).

I have not had the call, but it is quite possible they called me at home. My wife did say yesterday that someone called looking for me but they never called back.

I will PM you my mobile and account number again.

Really appreciate it so thanks.

I'm going to be in the same boat in a month or so. I'll also be shopping for the best deal.

Currently on the 60gb total home and its excellent speed. But in a month or so i'll be looking for the same thing as these peeps.

Have recommended telecom to many people and i'd like to to continue to do so, mobile data and DSL speeds are A+.

Nice customer service plambrechtsen !
I am not a customer of Telecom but Orcon, all I have been offered is a $5 increase plus a 18 month contract or a $11 per month increase out of contract.
So its nice to see someone go an extra mile.

I gotta say big thanks plambrechtsen!

Big ups to you and Telecom, the retention team called me last night. I am all re-signed and happy. A TiVo is winging it's way to me now.

Once again, thank you.
