It most definately does rygrass.
When I signed up they asked me if I wanted it on or off, so if they don't ask you, then make a point of telling them if you want it off.

rygrass: Well after reading most of this Forum post i desided that i will choose this plan. Mind you can't hurt if i trail it for a month.

Currently on Pro plan Connection is on Max Adsl Data Rate 8160 1024 kbps ( Can't wait for Adsl2+ to come to my exchange! ) So in theory i should get the same connection

Also does this plan offer interleaving off ?

Will post results to see what i get when i get moved over

All Plans 10GB and over have the option of turning interleaving off

Call 123, say to the automated lady "broadband plan change" that is essentially what they have to do(goes through at midnight on the day they input the request). if you get the same response that It cant be turned off from the rep, insist with them that it can and tell them to look it up (i know it is so stupid that you have to tell them how to do there job).

My big time has been useless over the last 3 days.

HTTP has been slow as, I have been unable to stream low bitrate radio. Even youtube has been only only going 30.

Well i getting slow downloads atm and taking ages to view some pages

Interleaving is good if you have a good stable connection. lowers your ping can raise your connection rate which why i can tell i don't have it on.

First day on it for me shouldn't complain i give it a month i guess.

Will ring Xtra up after and say i can have it off

I've been on this plan for a few weeks now and haven't noticed any drop in speed on general web browsing - including places like youtube. Of course have seen my torrents and emule throttled but this usually starts flat out again about midnight.

It does say on the Telecom website that this plan shouldn't effect general web browsing - and if it does you should call 123 - which is probably what all those who are seeing a slowdown in general web usage should do.

Just switched to Big Time from xnet pay-per-gig.  So far so good, but I don't seem to be getting faster downstream sync:

Downstream Rate: 7547 kbps

Upstream Rate: 733 kbps

Upload is much faster than the 128k before though.

Speed is pretty good during peak times too (10:30pm)

Auckland speed test

San Francisco speed test

Cheer's Diggzzy Worked like a charm or just that i got someone who know's what there doing.

Takes 24-48 hours after the plan has been changed over for them to turn interleaving off so hopefully that fixes my proplem well sorta!

Anyone else getting effected playing online games on this plan ?

you wont get faster downstream. the only difference here is bigtime has uncapped upstream, so if with xnet you had cap at 128 or 256 or what have you, here youll get as much as your line will allow. if xnet's downstream was uncapped, you wont get anymore as that's limited by the line, modem and the exchange.

in other words, if you are on an upcapped plan with one ISP, changing ISP's wont affect your connect rates, its only limited by the line and the hardware itself. youre still sitting on the same cabinet, dslam, modem, etc. your throughput may change, but not the connect rates.
