sorry no. Only credit card or visa debit.

For modems, it really depends on how techy you are.

Telecom sell a fairly decent VDSL modem/router for $150, but if you want to go higher end you have quite a few options, like the Fritzbox which is around $300-400

Draytek 130 at around $150 seems fairly popular as a standalone modem if you want to use a separate router.

It's pretty common for online services to only take credit card as payment - like Netflix, Unblock-Us, Amazon etc etc.

You can use a visa debit card too - which a lot of people have. From your point of view that's like having it done via internet banking. Most banks offer them now.

Thanks for the feedback though, we're definitely open to considering other options if there is enough demand. Possibly pay-pal for example. (or even bitcoin

In general to cut costs and offer cheaper products means streamlining as much of the business process as you can. You cut things the impact marginal amounts of people but produce much less complexity in the business process's needed to support the company. Amex normally (Correct me if i'm wrong) have higher fees attached to process the payments. Having a CC on file also means they can bill you when they want so you dont skip out on payment (DD's have a warning time and AP's give no control to the company)

In order to be cheaper whilst still being quality they have to cull something and users with different CC's and ones wanting to do AP's etc etc seem to be what they are aiming at

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

That is not a good way to look at it. Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Comcast, Illiad, RDS, BT, and others would all disagree with you that IPv6 isn't needed today.

The easiest time to enable IPv6 is during greenfield build, adding it later is a pain and causes rework and may either force compromises (due to lack of consideration in the design to accommodate IPv6) or changes.

You're starting a service in a region where you can receive a max of a /22 of IPv4 resources from the RIR, and it's well documented that 30%+ of traffic can go over IPv6, giving you a reduction in CGNAT capacity requirement thus saving you money.

I can't believe someone would build a new IP service in 2014 without implementing IPv6.

Amex merchant rates are horrible. If you do accept it please do it with a surcharge so the rest of us are not propping up their absurd rewards points.

BT's deployment of IPv6 is in part because they know they will have to deploy CGNAT. The costs of deploying CGN without IPv6 are hideous.

Let's say you have 10Gbps of customer traffic. With CGN and no IPv6 you now have to NAT 10Gbps of traffic. With CGN and IPv6 you now are NATing 30% or better less traffic. I know I'd rather spend less on NAT equipment rather than more.

It's a no brainer, and there is finally financial incentive for operators to deploy IPv6 once they're unable to receive IPv4 resources. As an aside, that's largely why the APNIC last /8 policy went into effect: to give new entrants a small slice of IPv4 in order to connect to the legacy network, and provide functionality for NAT64-like functions. It seems terrible to squander resources and not take advantage of the most logical opportunity to deploy IPv6, ie, day 1.
