eXDee: Got a few texts today from someone in Wellington because their telecom prepay data was out again around lunch and after.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, my ipad is on prepay and it dropped for about half an hour during lunchtime yesterday (wellington CBD, right next to the telecom building)

Data dropped out again today while i was using it at 1:04pm called telecom and logged fault, the suggested getting a new simcard, so i went to telecom store and got a replacement sim.
Data dropped again approx 3:30pm so appears it is not related to the sim card.

Its getting a bit tedious having to use a 2degress sim in another phone setup as wifi hotspot just to get data.

While i appreciate that basic troubleshooting steps are ideal, it would be nice if there was a more frictionless way for users to report this. I'm thinking in terms of a really simple web form or email address, sort of an unofficial log of faults for GZ users so they don't have to call up and waste theirs/helpdesks time. In terms of false positives on the issue, hopefully it'd get enough signal to cancel out the noise.

This appears to be fixed, at least here in Whakatane; I haven't had a single issue for several days now :)

I too managed a day without any noticeable dropouts so fingers crossed the issue is resolved

I wasn't able to connect to data this morning either at around that time, from trying to check for a bus time in the North Shore, through multiple cell sites on the bus and then came back again when in the CBD. Is it worth reporting each one? If it wasn't happening to others I would assume it was just a fault with my phone.

I was thinking the same thing. On prepay with telecom using an old Galaxy tab 7.7. But my contract 4g Sim in my mobile was fine. So I'd not really thought much of it being on the network side.
