Central Auckland suburb?

Network upgrade scheduled:

  • UFB deployment dates for your area are still being developed

Sigh. I would definitely jump but Chorus says no.

I've signed up to UFB with another provider, its been in the consents stage for about 6 months now (MDU) but is just about to be approved (according to the body corp). Is there any way of switching isp's (to bigpipe) mid-order?

It shouldn't be a problem - just place an order with BigPipe + cancel the other order after.

Ouch, the pricing wars are heating up. Pity I live in an UFF area so no chance of a 200/200 connection (UFF don't offer that). Hopefully the gigabit service will have the upload bumped and people start offering that in Wanganui soon...

I believe it is correct, however it really depends on the terms of your contract with your 'curent' ISP.

As a reasonable person, I would expect the contract to start from the date of actual connection, so if you are in the consent process, then I wouldn't expect to have a ETF yet.

I have been told before, that if you cancel your order with one provider before install in a MDU it just gets cancelled and they start all over again.

that's potentially true, however unless you are the only one in the MDU to have placed an order, then they won't abandon the whole thing.
I also think that it takes a little while for the abandonment to happen, so if they receive an order shortly after one is cancelled they probably won't abandon the original.

Assuming they manage to link it I guess.

OT but is there a way to tell if another person in a MDU has requested UFB as well as you (Assuming you can't just ask the other people for some reason)?

Awesome timing for me. Is it possible to get $100 credit on the account instead of a voucher by any chance? Or perhaps a Westfield giftcard/voucher?

Also, would anyone be able to recommend me a decent UFB router that won't break the bank? Say, up to $200.

Netcomm NF4V seems a popular choice.  Just under $200 from PBtech

Hi Bigpipe,

I'm stoked to see that you guys are now offering UFB, especially when this week I saw the attached image up at my building.

I'm keen as a keen thing to sign up and would really like to score one of those vouchers, but as you see in the attachment the service isn't quite live yet.

Cutting to the chase: Am I able to take advantage of your generous offer?

Regards,
D

PS- already a happy customer on your ADSL service and realise as you stated before that I have already had my free month(s).

Yep, go for it! As long as you place the order before the 17th, even if connection takes a wee while longer, you are good to go.
