And here for Telecom

Overall the Agent looks like a nice phone.

1.3mp camera
Bluetooth stereo support, plays MP3's
128MB internal memory, can be expanded with mini-sd cards.
It is also a worldphone, supporting 800/1900MHz

I eat my words with the Sanyo 6650, I got totally confused with the samsung and the insane week last week.
it does have better ringtones though, including some simple "pliip pliip" ones which is great.

I like the Agent, played with one today and it's plain but has it where it matters.

Ah Mauricio,  leaving interesting tags again I see...

freitasm: And you won't find anything. Wait a bit longer and you will see it around.

Looking in the specs of the Palm Centro I found

"Dual-band CDMA2000 EvDO backward compatible with 1XRTT and IS95"

were you referring to this?

I'm still using my Treo 650 (Palm) and waiting for the next likely replacement to come out.  Perhaps a WM6 version of the Treo?  Do you have any comment to make on this?

Cheers
Bernard

No, sorry I wasn't talking about the Centro, although it looks like a good fit for Telecom. I was talking about the Okta. Paradoxsm wrote "he couldn't find anything about Okta"... But check "Okta Mobile" and "Okta Agent" on Google now...

Is the Okta Agent definitely a world phone? Can't find confirmation...

World phone as in it can roam in the bands used by CDMA in other countries, not "World Mode" phone (the dual GSM and CDMA).

Okta will have World Mode phones in the future.

Thanks Mauricio, talk about confusing terminology - yep, I'm aware of some of the upcoming Okta models, etc...

The agent is alright, after having a play with one, but not great. Build quality looks to be an issue with the aerial looking like it would get bent/snap easily. Also no word, excel, powerpoint etc. Also point to note is it is a Pantech Yell

Yeah I was a bit concerned about it being a Pantech - its the first thing I noticed - their products are normally rubbish... I assumed, because it's Windows Mobile OS that it included mobile versions of Word & Excel?

Sorry, what was that?

Okta is Pantech?

Are you trying to elude to the build quality? The looks or styling? Or do you just think that Pantech are Okta?

Okta Mobile will source their handsets from a variety of manufacturers. It just happens the Okta Agent is the Pantech PN 820. Future models will be from different manufacturers.

WM5 for Smartphone has no Mobile Word or Mobile Excel or Mobile Powerpoint. Only on WM6 Standard (aka Smartphone) it has Mobile Office, and I think it is also with WM6 Standard that it will have the ability to edit the documents on Mobile Word and Excel.

Styling isnt great but its a smartphone so I can look past that, but yes build quality doesnt fill me with confidence on this model. Feels cheap, and I bent the aerial on it when I was putting it down, not through force, just normal operation. As stated above Okta is the front to allow a variety of brands to be sourced, but enabling them to have one brand allowing brand confidence and loyalty after a period of time. Pantech wasnt a good start off the blocks though, I must say.

Can you download Word/Excel for WM5 seperately? Or at worst a free viewer...?
