Thanks for the updates - really cool to see.

Does appear to be stable for now.

Cheers.

Additional update: Another large capacity link was brought up at 11:25pm. This has restored resiliency to the links and removed a very small amount of congestion that was there between 9:45 and 11:25pm.

There's more remedial work to come, but that involves spare parts being installed and might happen in the early hours of the morning. I'm not sure. I don't plan to be awake then.

Cheers - N

Talkiet: I have been able to log into our corporate VPN and check out some systems there. It appears that someone may have let a significant quantity of magic smoke escape from a big router.

if this was at Caro st exchange aka NOC, it's a common event.....
the fire alarm is going off there every other week

Somehow I suffer something similar as well last night... But I was on bigpipe. Is it related or am I imagining it?

Sorry, Bigpipe is different infrastructure than Spark... .I couldn't comment on whether it was related or not.

Talkiet:

Bear in mind the people monitoring the social media pages (probably) aren't paid to be on them after hours.

Which is nothing like the days of the original ORT that had real engineers answering questions and solving issues for people. frown

so is global gateway spark or a separate entity?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.
