Since 6am my connection has been down - I've only just submitted a case to BigPipe. I'm on the IPoE test with VLAN 10 so likely explains it.

Bloody hell. At this stage everyone is going to beat me before I get reconnected. That'll learn me for trolling the BigPipe team.

I have updated my Signature. This is on the Huawei router that BigPipe and others supply. The 420 down is pretty consistent but I only managed to get the 880 up once. I think the connection was actually being used at the time so I will try and test later when everone else is out.

Hey I have not seen any tests from Orcon yet who claimed to be "the first" (just saying).

How do you know you can get Gigabit? I didn't get a response to my last post.

I'm on the North Shore and with the Chorus test I get this

Haere taka mua, taka muri; kaua e wha.

@ScuL I note in the signature you appear to be on 200/20 "Pro" plan - you'll need to upgrade to the Elite plan to experience Gigabit. It is available anywhere now.

Looking at that, I'm hoping for roughly the same, if not better with my RT-AC87U. Though I'm unsure how my aging cat5e cables will handle it.

Switch over set for Monday

Yea I didn't want to upgrade to Elite unless I was absolutely sure I could obtain Gigabit. Hence why the Chorus checker is confusing

It probably just hasn't been updated to show Gigabit yet. AFAIK all UFB connections will be able to get it.

As long as you have fibre, you can get gigabit. Ignore that Chorus site, it isn't updated very often.

For the record: if you can get fibre with Bigpipe, you should be able to get gigabit with Bigpipe.

Even though there was a hiccup with my connection I just want to say thanks @JoshBigpipe (and the rest of the team) with getting it sorted quickly. This was a Chorus issue however they did take responsibility to get things fixed. It was just a little daunting for me (understandable) waiting for the reply email. I'll conclude this with quite literally the best support email response I have had to date:

So thanks team and no hard feelings knocking me offline for Gigabit.
