Are there any more specifics on Gigabit availability in Auckland?

Chorus put out this half-assed PR suggesting they'd have it everywhere from October 1st,  and Bigpipe has said on here that people on the 200/200 plans will get upgraded when their RSP can support it, so does that mean we'll have Gigabit in Auckland next week?

... [and if that's the case, why is nobody talking about it? :}]

I was just wondering the same thing. All this talk of Gigabit availability in Acukland, but I see no sign of it?

Bigpipers, any idea?

Oh and if BP are going to upgrade all elite customers on to a Gigabit plan when it becomes available, then again! An awesome job by BP, this is the ISP to be on.

cheers

It's been a lot easier for us to do automated upgrades in Hamilton and Christchurch, but for Auckland not so much. If you're already on our Elite plan, you'll be receiving an email from us shortly with specific details as different customers will have different upgrade dates.

Awesome, I was wondering this also as I'm eagerly awaiting the Gigabit service.

As the one who likely referred all of you guys really, it is me first before all you peasants.

My connection dropped for about 30secs last night but it wasn't for teh Gigabits or IPv6. It made me sad.

If there's any words of wisdom I could give diplomatically in this situation, it would be to be patient - every LFC has different processes and some will naturally be faster than others due to the amount of requests they'll be receiving from every ISP to do the same thing (over a weekend as well!). I want Gigabit for my connection in Auckland just as much as you guys :(

Mentioned earlier in the thread but anyone who will have upgrades to Gigabit from us will get an EDM/planned maintenance upgrade email from us, so just hold on until you see that. Also, calling me a peasant too? u wot m8

Will those dates be posted somewhere too? Some of us are considering upgrading, but only once it's actually gigabit.

Surely any new installs after the 1st should be gigabit since there will be no upgrade needed?
