Started another test.

I do see it looking a little unhappy since vectoring which is normally a sign there is a physical fault.

@hio77 is there any chance changing the modulation from multimode would make a difference? 

 

Is there any way I can switch it back to non-vectored for the sake of stability until we can get the line tested? The connection still drops out several times a day whereas it was very stable on the old firmware - I should have made a note of the previous firmware version.

 

Edit: I'm thinking about switching to the only non-vectoring firmware on this page: https://www.draytek.com.au/support/downloads/vigor2860-series/ just to see if it gets the stability back.

 

Double edit: I've upgraded to a newer vectoring firmware - from Vigor2860_v3.8.9.3-02v_en.zip to Vigor2860_v3.8.9.3-04_en.zip - I'll monitor it and see if that's helped.

Just another update for the record - an update to the latest non-vectoring firmware has solved the stability issues, so it appears vectoring is not stable for long VDSL lines - it improved the download by about 5Mbps, but the stability suffered badly, 2-15 minute drops several times a day.

 

The upload speed (which was the main issue) was not solved in either instance, so we have decided to stick with non-vectoring firmware.

 

Thanks to everyone who had input on this one, your help is much appreciated.
