I can't note all the failed calls. 

 

Nobody is suggesting this. But you do need to note a single failed call, and a single working call to provide enough information to troubleshoot.

 

JetA1: Again, any call made directly to or from my number works perfectly.

 

Can you answer whether that includes from the specific Vodafone number used for the business. What happens when you call your Skinny phone, from that specific Vodafone phone?

Direct calls to my phone from any number work perfectly. The only fail is any forwarded calls.

Something the teleco did  which caused the problem.  I didn't quite understand the detail.

All I can tell you is it was something to do with VoLTE & 4G. 

 

And I am on Skinny mobile.

 A heads up to anyone interested in this situation.  

 

Gagan has definitively sorted this out now.  Initially the 'fix' was to turn off VoLTE at system level for my phone account.  Yes you can indeed turn VoLTE off on the phone itself but due to the nature of the problem this would not have solved anything.  So this was a workaround.  After a month or so Gagan and his team of smart techs have worked this out now.  As he puts it:  "we've found the bug in our forwarding logic between networks, and applied a fix!"

 

 

 

And so now I have VoLTE re-enabled AND Call Forwarding works.  What an excellent result.  Apparently it was quite an obscure problem and thus took some time to resolve.  This would have affected many more people than just myself.
