What kind of router can you get off them? Currently with 2degrees and have a Fritzbox, would that need returned to 2degrees if I went to Spark, as I am very interested in the Max Fibre plan.

They are now shipping the Spark Smart Modem 2 - https://www.spark.co.nz/shop/internet/spark-smart-modem/
Really nice devices. I use it for backup wireless so not my primary but lots of options and decent spec. Its a little big though!

Is that the one you can get for $106.20?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Yes it will work, but not without setting changes.  Skinny uses no vlan tagging, Spark does.

The information I have is that if you sign up for Fibre you will only get the option of getting the Spark Smart Modem.  The Smart Modem 2 is our Wireless Broadband modem.

Sweet! Just saved $20 a month by signing up to the Max Fibre plan! We were currently on the top tier of the Unplan Fibre Max Plan with Netflix.

Remember for those like me looking to move off Unplan, your first bill will be a large one, as you are moving from post-paid Unplan to month-in-advance new plan.

Yes - when changing tonight the Spark salesperson made this very clear to me. Now changed my two plans and this was easy by phone.

One trap for those who max out ports like I do, looks like original modem(619b) has one wan port and four lan ports, new modem has one wan port and only three lan ports.

Nice!

I’m on unplan and am always on the highest price tier per month so the new max plan is so attractive I’ve been to MySpark and put in an order for a plan change.

Well after convincing her indoors, we signed up tonight for the Max Fibre plan. Currently we are with 2degrees paying the same price with no added bonus.
Now just to wait for the changeover and then set up the Fritzbox, which we have had since 2015.
