Otautau. It's a small town about 42K (as the crow flies) NW of Invercargill. Very similar to West Auckland about 50 years ago. Hitching posts in the main street, spittoons in the bars, and everyone carries. There's talk of setting up Tim Shadbolt as mayor here, if Invercargill ever manages to remove him from office.

Ah that makes sense, your fibre co is probably UFF, and they may do things differently to Chorus.

UFF was previously owned (at least in part) by Wel Networks so their mappings were all made using Wel Poles & Ducts

 

didn't follow any of chorus copper plans AFAIK
