andrewcnz: Was told by Telecom shop sales people that there are delays in activating connections. As there are lots wanting them. I'm still waiting for a pre pay sim to activate (existing 027 pre pay number moved to it). Been about 4 hours.

I did wonder that also I got my sim first thing this morning and when I couldnt get it to work
I went back into the shop the lady said she had made some mistake on my account I asked if everyone else was down and she said just me ? I duno maybe she just didnt know what the story was

It turns out that telecom have no info on my number being transfered from CDMA to XT sim card. Now I have to wait for the store to return my call as they have caused the delay.

Big thank you to the Telecom staff who are looking at the forum and trying to help out with the problems we have. Smile

Odd, I popped my XT SIM in my iPhone 3G and it worked straight away in the Telecom store.

Try restoring it and plug it into itunes with an internet connection so it unlocks it?

Worth a try

I restored in iTunes but to no avail then suddenly at 5:30pm i get flooded with 50 odd text messages.

It just magically started working, I guess the SIM only half activated or something. It's all go now!

Yep I knew it would be temporary. I'd hate to be the tech people suddenly getting all these calls lol.
