PS: XT internet connections should be fine, I believe it's T-World thats failing to load. Try navigating to www.pdaportal.telecom.co.nz or another mobile site. At least that worked for me.

I've had similar issues with the 885 as freitasm regarding data dropping out intermittently with full signal. Also noticed the 885 gets very hot after even a short amount of use. Has anybody else noticed this.

awesome777: ... Had a few problems with my Sony E C510 ...

Have you updated to the latest firmware? Our Telecom NZ C510a had version R1EA030 090421 as purchased last month. I updated it using the "Sony Ericsson Update Service" PC software (OTA did not show any updates) and it is now R1FA035 090723. Can't say what fixes the update may contain but notably Google Maps is now 3.0.0, whereas it was previously 2.3.1. The firmware in the C510a's on display in the Wellington Telecom stores (Lambton Qy & Dukes Arcade) was even older!

The C510a Telecom NZ software is still unnecessarily crippled in that Google Maps 3.0.0 cannot access a Bluetooth GPS paired w. the 'phone.

Interesting. I don't see any OTA updates for my W705a (although the SE site mentions a recent one). I'll have to try the PC-based updater next time I have access to a Windows machine.

l43a2: my fone is an R6 also :0 i hope it comes right soon i miss the use of internet on the go.

My mobile broadband on my R6 has been intermittent for the last three days as well, often coming up with the 'cannot connect' message.  I guess I'll ring telecom next week if it's still happening then, as it's impossible to make a phone call while the kids are home from school.

You don't know what you're talking about. This is simply not true, Telecom have not changed the core software on this device.

Try a different APN other than content (wap.telecom.co.nz) such as internet.telecom.co.nz
