What I meant to say was

When will we get a review of Treo 650 (Telecom version) of the high standard you just posted?

Bugger waiting for the Treo 700w, I'll trade up if/when it gets to market then.

ITMT when is the 650 going to ship?

About the Treo 650 review it really depends on when it is available. I haven't heard anything about it, and anything related to Palm devices is always involved in secrecy - a Palm thing I think, since I do have a NDA signed with them but communications involving this company is effectively zero even though I tried a lot before.

On Monday night 7/11 I received a mailer in the snailmail box from Leading Edge offering the Treo 650 on an open term plan for $799 "mid November".

Are there any other offers out there?

Cheers
Bernard

Had a breif play with a Treo 650 yesterday. They have fixed a lot of the stuff that was not so good on the 600, but no EVDO connection, just 1 x. Seemed like a nice device if you want a phone first PDA second. Easy to operate almost all functions with one hand. I proped for a release date- but didnt get anywhere. Not sure what the hold up is, probobaly some PTC issues

Hi MFR001,

I am looking for the best of options here. I am on the road a lot, driving up to four hours at a time.

I have used a Palm for more than 5 years to take notes, capture time sheets, log calls, carry a knowledgebase, check when the tide is in, manage my schedule, start documents, read worksheets.

This was unconnected to my phone.

I have been wanting a single device for some time, but did not want to go to the 7135, because of its size and no keyboard.

Is there anyone who has had more than a passing view of how the Treo 650 stacks up against the Apache (I know this is expecting miracles given the product isn't released here yet).

Over and above the Palm functionality it would appear that the Apache has Windows Terminal Services and EVDO in its favour.

Cheers

Does that mean you have both the Treo and Apache at hand and you are about to finish testing on the Apache and to then start testing the Treo?

Is this user functionality testing or is it compliance?

Tell me more...

Cheers
Bernard

Yes the Apache has EVDO- but both can do active sync with Windows 2003 server over the air, both can do word and excel, apache can view Powerpoint- and therotically play it back to a projector via the USB?? havent tested that yet. Not sure if the Treo does PP. Both devices will proble do what you require, it might come down to form factor (look and feel) and also Price- because there will be a big difference between the two
