I was told by Telecom there was a newer vers. of firmware without the problems, but maybe your phone had been in shop for some time

Is this problem with PXT likely to be cleared up in the near future? I really want to get a 6255 in the next 2 weeks as it has a number of features i'm looking for and i've always liked Nokia's. But it seems like the phone carries a lot of problems with it, i understand that most have been cleared up but this PXT one worries me a bit

Is this phone worth getting? or should i weigh up the alternatives?

Apparently we cant, it hasnt been supplied to Telegistics is what im hearing. Have to wait for the new software Nokia are in the process of writing. But in saying that Telecom are looking at a solution for those customers who have been affected by this ie refunding or replacing with newer versions of the phone that work. I will be hearing back on this tomorrow and posting as soon as details come to hand. Keep checking back here

I would say the problem will be cleared up very soon. It is the only issue with the phone, all others have been sorted. I love the phone, great features etc. If you are going to buy one before this is sorted, make sure you get the phone from a Telecom dealer, like more mobile as they are more like to have newer phones, get them to check the firware version before you buy it. If it is a higher version than V1700 then it will be sweet, no problems.

Firmware can be checked with the code *#837#, but they should know that. Good luck

apart from that is your phone working fine brad?

It is only affecting the 6255 as it is a problem with the phone specific firmware, not the network. Other than that the phone is perfect!!

The Nokia 6255 is a CDMA phone on the Telecom network. It doesnt do "PXT". Never has, never will.

It does do "Photo Messaging" though...

Tired Photo Messaging myself yesterday and discovered I have the same problem as well - I can send them but cant receive...rang telecom and they said they have no problems at the moment and they will "reset" my line. Of course that didnt fix anything............

Shouldn't the question actually be.. "how come the phones were working fine until telecom made a change to their infrastructure/software?"

I've had mine since July and it was working fine till they announced the ability to share picture message / PXT with Vodafone.

Coincidence? I very much doubt Nokia are at fault here.

I dont blame Nokia but apparently they are re-writing the firmware to fix this. Either way i dont really care who fixes it as long as its fixed.
