This is what I found when checking it for Snow Leopard support(for a colleague, not me)

If you use the Mobile Broadband USB Stick 120 or USB Stick 620, you should not use this with MAC OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). It is currently incompatible and can cause serious issues with system stability

The USB stick 120 = the ZTE MF626, the USB stick above is the MF 636/637

Apparently the MF668+ works, but ti's $349 on the Tcom website, at least you'll be future proofed for the HSPDA+ upgrades


The easierst option is to get a PC notebook and use Windows 7 :P




I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Yeah, I found that information as well.

But to be honest, I haven't experienced any of the issues they had described - so I'm just kind of letting it slide at this point in time.

The software works well with 32bit, but fails completely when trying to use it in 64bit mode.
THe computer most definitely recognises that a modem of sorts has been plugged into the USB, but the software can-not communicate with it.


Basically, it comes down to the manufacturers software/drivers, in this case, ZTE.

I just got mine - already have an old one but I'm off away with my son this afternoon.

He's having alook at setting it up on his Ubuntu laptop right now.

Amazing, and only for $15 profit (well less, if they count their time, travel expenses etc). 


EDIT: missed they are only selling the SIM with buy now of $60, still so not worth the effort IMHO.

I've got one but had to sign up for 24months to get it :(

On OSX10.6.2 it will not set up in System prefs network, all three options remain as Not Configured.
Set the ZTEUSBModem at the top of the list and it will connect. Safari works fine in 64 bit although Telecom Connect is 32bit. universal ~ latest drivers April'09 before Snow Leopard..

Software is crap .. Expect 4000+ messages an hour written in Console from Telecom connect and 1KB per second up to keep the connection.

cisconz: I got one too, the Telecom branding comes off as it is a sticker.... Hmmmm


Yeah, I pulled it off too.
EDIT: Must say, the branding on it was pretty shabby when I got it, it was half-peeled off already, so I'm like "meh, (rips label off)"

Also, it's made by ZTE in-case no body noticed, and is there anyway to remove the Telecom I mean, Telecom branding from the software?

Yep, i picked one up today as well ..
Just checking the T&C's - on this page below..

It says:
On this 500 MB plan you'll be charged 10c per MB for the first 300 MB and the next 200 MB are free. If you do not exceed the first set amount of the eligible data usage, you will only be charged for what you use that month and not the monthly fee.

Does this mean that if you use say 100 meg @ 10c a meg you will only be charged $10.00 off your prepay balance on the supplied SIM or is it $29.95 for the 500 meg per month even if you only use 100 meg or less ?
