To expand on DeroyBoy's post, Internet Tethering has been renamed to Personal Hotspot and adds the ability to use it as a wireless Hotspot and only on the iPhone 4, so I hardly think all those people using 'Personal Hotspot' on their 3G or 3GS are suddenly going to find themselves looking at paying extra for the same method of tethering they've always used.

ahmad: Ok that's slightly reassuring. So what's the deal with "tethering plans" overseas then???

It's all about the carriers making more money by adding another $10 here and $15 there..

They don't charge for it now. You're right, they could, but they don't. Why would this change?

maybe they can't?

By that, I mean maybe they don't have the ability to tell whether you are tethering or not.
