The ZTE MF 636 software for Mac still doesn't work the way it should ~ still stating 'not configured' but still tries every time it is used. Two years now and still waiting for it to be fixed.
Latest software is still March'09 and it's still 32 bit.

Hi folks,

The Mac Connect Me Beta client is now available for download based on the following conditions:

Please note this is a Beta release so please do not seek support via any of the Telecom support channels, as they do not yet support the Mac release.

Please respond to this thread or PM me with any issues or feedback.

System Requirements:

Intel Mac OS 10.5 or higher (32 and 64 bit)

Compatible T-Sticks:

MF 626

MF 636

MF 668

MF 180

MF 181

MF 190

NB. Sierra Wireless T-Sticks are not supported as we could not source a SW Mac SDK and was too costly to develop based on individual AT commands

Telecom have released Connect Me for Mac into the wild

Works on Intel Macs running OS 10.5 and above (32 or 64 bit)

Supports these T-Sticks:

ZTE MF 181

ZTE MF 190

New Windows Version:

There is also a new Windows version that supports the Sierra Wireless SW 306 and SW 326

I downloaded and installed this on my laptop at work. It's like watching paint dry compared to the ZTE software that came with my MF 626.. Takes forever to Initialize the modem after it gets detected. Usually requite the Tstick to be removed and re-inserted.. Typically 5 minutes from plug in Tstick , runup software and get online if I get that far.

Will uninstall it and go back to Telecom Connection Manager..

Edit. I plugged the Tstick into a different USB port to the normal one and now it only takes a minute to run up to the connect ready screen. Yes some interesting features.

One question about the online prepay topup via crdit card. Does it update when you do it or do you still get the SMS with the voucher number and you have to call *333 to complete the topup?? I normally use Mtopup for this function as it is instant and i don't have to go online to do it.

Hi Old3eyes,

The first time you connect a T-Stick it may take a while to initialise, but after that it should be pretty quick to recognise it.

The Top up Self Service Button takes you to the general online TopUp page which does have a voucher step. This page has some changes coming soon including removing the voucher step and allowing you to specify the $ amount. These features are available now via the ‘Usage Button’ below

The Usage Self Service Button takes you to the Online Mobile Portal (ensure you are connecting using mobile data (not over Wifi) and it automatically log you in and display your usage on the landing page. Here you can navigate to TopUp inside the portal, as you are already authenticated it will display your phone number, you can specify the $ amount and no voucher step is required - the credit is applied straight away.

In the Mobile Portal you can also buy Data Extras if you want to change between the 150MB, 300MB, 500MB and 2GB for different months.

Good work Jonny. I find the Topup inside the portal works really well, and use it in preference to any other method. I have noticed that "Connect Me" doesn't automatically load when you plug in the T-Stick, unlike the old Telecom software which did. However, that isn't a biggie once you know to load it first.
