Just an update: I'm continuing to experience the same problems to all the sites that have been listed here (and code.jquery.com as listed in another post here.) Have been experiencing this since about 4pm or 5pm yesterday...
They all seem to be in different parts of the US - according to my traceroute reads - so location doesn't seem to be an issue. The sites in question seem to be up based on the use of downforeveryoneorjustme.com/, and the lack of people in other parts of the world complaining. (Most have large user bases so I figure if there was a site issue, people across the world would be complaining by now. Also I can get to the sites using tools like freewebproxy.net, but frankly that is not an option.) DNS seems to have been ruled out. Using freeproxyserver.net makes no difference.
From time to time other sites drop off with similar issues, although that may just be coincidence; for exampledownforeveryoneorjustme.com/ drops off the radar every so often.

Does anyone actually know what is/may be causing this? Is anyone in Telecom acknowledging there is an issue yet? Should I hang around waiting for possibly Monday before the next escalation team level May get back to me. Or should I just go outside and forget about normal web activities for the day?...

Telecom call Number I logged is 22967207 if that helps anyone....

Kicker: Same problem for me since yesterday, Some sites work others don't here are few examples

http://forums.riftgame.com/
http://www.rage3d.com/index.php
http://www.freetvguide.co.nz/

Anyone else cant access those sites?

I can't get to any of those and still can't get to wellington-airport.co.nz.

also can't get to http://movingoverseas.org

Yes I think its the transparent proxy issue (again) - so what providers can I go to who don't use the same system?

I'm also having problems, specifically with worldrugbynews.co.uk - not much good during the RWC!

I just get a white screen or Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data. (but I can can access it via a proxy.)

Is this what everyone else is seeing too?

I understand Telecom is aware of this problem.

Although I am not a member of the Telecom Online Response Team officially, I am prepared to state that Telecom is well aware of this issue and it's being investigated now at the appropriate level.

I have no information on a ETA for resolution I'm afraid.

Could people try the affected sites now please? I am seeing on at least some sites that where the Wellington airport site is now loading, where 15 minutes ago it wasn't.

Not 100% certain the issue is fixed, but some updates from the real world would be helpful

Cheers - N

Just to complete the listing, i seem to all good now on most of the sites I just quickly tried.
Be interested to know what was fixed....
Over the last few hours, http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ has come and gone anyway. Is working at the moment, but it showed slightly different symptoms anyway

Airport's working. The site I linked, ironically, seems to be down (tested using http://www.downforeveryone.com/downforeveryoneorjustme.com).

"Here" is Whakatane.

I'll ask if I can pass on what the root cause APPEARS to be. I too had noticed DFEOJM had been unreliable for a while... Even though on my line all the other sites worked through the issue, the downforeveryone site was unreliable here...
