Later today the Tech will return and pick up his Modem, check that things are ok regarding the "modem watch" and replace my Thomson TG585 v8 Modem. If "problems" don't reoccur, then the Modem will be deemed to not have caused the problem.
As I suspected your problem started after the ADSL/VDSL upgrade to Foxton. It may have been the wrong port configuration that was found but you'd have to hope that someone is looking at the whole Foxton and Foxton Beach area for similar problems.
