munchkin: If you ring your own mobile number, and push * when you hear the message telling you to leave a message, you'll get to your mailbox - I do this and it uses my included minutes rather than being charged $0.20

I set the number up in my contacts as: +6427xyznnnn (pause) * (pause) [voicemail pin code] and then I get there straight away without any fussing around :)

Tried this and it worked,.. but later on when I checked my account there was a charge which I think was for voicemail, even though I have a lot of free minutes remaining. I'll check again next time I need to use voicemail

I can confirm using the above method does NOT work for me. It registers as a "VOICE MAIL" call and is charged accordingly ($0.17).

Just to let you know I'll pass this onto the product manager for Voicemail.

Apologies for the slow response I've been at conferences and training for 1.5 weeks :(

alas!

someone listens!

if only i could afford to not use voicemail. my mobile phone is my pager and i can't answer calls all the time. being inflicted with murphy's law, the 10 seconds that i am not available to take calls is when someone tries to get hold of me. so i get on average 2 - 3 voice messages per work day, and sometimes if i'm busy i don't return the call immediately and cannot memorise the fuzzy sounding return number and have to recheck at a later time.

if telecom doesnt respond with a deal i will go to 2 degrees coz even tho they charge for voicemail they do give around 4-5x the allocations that telecom give for $40.

edit:
(voda 3g reception in comparison w telecom/2d in my work place is so bad the only thing holding me there is the free voicemail haha)
