Hello XT,

if you would consider giving free voice mail for post paid customers that would be nice.

I don't expect an answer, but maybe a show of +1 s from current and non customers who would move over if you did that.

so: type "+1" for current customers
"+1 switch" for non customers who will switch

In South Africa we had this service which use to send all voicemail to email.

It worked really well. With all the smart phones these days it would be even better.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I'm sure he would just use Nate's setup for voicemail to emailSmile

I actually find voicemail very annoying. I will very rarely ever leave a VM for any friends. If they don't answer the phone they're either busy or ignoring me.

With VF now offering free VM retrieval on their new plans, I guess only time will tell if Telecom also go with this.

same.   If a call goes to voicemail I will hangup and send a txt instead.

a) more conventient for the person receiving it (quicker to read a txt than listen to a VM and can be done discretely)
b) free for the person recieving it

I am pretty sure this is not going to happen, look at the current situation:

All the telcos make $xxx from voicemail charges. If one telco drops the charge it is very very likely the other 2 will follow suit to stay competitive.

That basically means they all lose their $xxx income without any benefit to any of them.

On top of this they are all now losing money as it does cost to run a voicemail service.

I'm on vodafone and don't pay to access voicemail. It is included in my plan.

Vodafone - all their Smart plans include free voicemail calls ... throw in 3 NZ best mates, and a $15 per month discount, and it was a no-brainer

Cheers

Actually vodafone have for years had the capability to send you emails with your voicemail message as a *.wav attachment, they just don't offer it to us customers as far as i know
