Me too. I'm in telecom vdsl and am getting a big fat zero for both download and upload for any speedtest server outside of nz.

accessing usa web sites are still working ok, but are laggy as all hell.

Unfortunately I re-routed my phone wiring on the weekend, so spent the last two days trying to figure out why somethings were faster while others (video streaming especially) were crawling and in some cases only ever buffering, even though speed test is OK.

I eventually found that I could get some things working by using Hola to switch location to the US **even though the video stream did not require a US location**.

On Telecom 150GB Fibre 100, I've been seeing very slow speeds to the USA since Monday.

30-40 kilobytes/second seems typical but on some routes it is as low as 2-3 kilobytes/second.
Normally these routes are very fast on this connection (10 megabytes/second).

The problem may be intermittent, it was very bad at 1am Tuesday, but a lot better at 4am. The problem is very bad again now and has been for at least the last 5 hours.

Upon seeing this thread, I've tested with European and Australian routes and found slow speeds on those too.

I've also got an ADSL connection with Vodafone and I'm seeing no issues there, all routes are very fast. So the problem lies with Telecom or their upstream.

Same deal here.  I'm on DSL2 in Auckland.  Can't stream any video from twitch.tv or escapistmagazine.com, but the sites themselves work alright.  Some other services I need to use are also drip feeding in, almost like there's something failing to buffer/disassemble/reassemble large data requests.  I ran an ubuntu upgrade earlier today which stuttered through the process as well which is highly unusual.

Will lodge a support call tomorrow if it hasn't been resolved.

My VDSL has been doing the same as a lot of people on here too. I've been ignoring it because I assumed my router was playing up and i couldn't be bothered dealing with it. But when I connect direct to the modem, same issue.

Sometimes the issue is slightly alleviated if I connect through Private Internet Access VPN to the US or something. But thats not always a 100% fix.

I tried a VPN last night and got the best speeds I've had in a long time. Same VPN provider as you.

Seems to have been fixed, at least the symptoms I had. Twitchtv on Source works fine (when mobile buffered like crazy before) and Internode Sydney speedtest back to normal speeds.

A specific issue was discovered and remediation carried out between 10:19am and about 11:30am this morning.

Please advise if any of the new, specific issues noticed in the last few days are persisting.

Appears to be resolved for me on the most part, have been able to stream radio from EU and game on servers based in the US without any of the previous problems.

Has anyone here actually opened a case with telecom in regards to the issue?

I'm not quite sure what to even do. In the past when similar things have happened they seem to ignore it and rarely take notice of it.

I was just about to reply when you posted your last post actually, mines taken a hugeeeeee plummit in speeds this afternoon. Its insane how bad it is right now. Barely able to stream 240P YouTube, will try some others soon. VPN seems to slightly help but isn't practical in the long run.

Are you still experiencing similar things? And have you raised a ticket with telecom? If so, how, and what did you tell them/need to provide?
