Had VDSL2 for about a year now, cant complain how fast it was for the first few months, was what was expected of it.
But over the course of the last few months I've found that international traffic is grinding to a halt, pages taking in excess of 15+ seconds to load, download speeds struggling to get over 1mb/s at the very best from several file locker and test file sites, last night i couldn't even break the 20kb/s mark, but never an issue with upload speed which is always 1.1-1.2mb/s, 99% of the time its faster than i can download.
However downloading files from with in new zealand have no problem in downloading at a solid 4mb/s any time of the day.
Same results on 5 different computers in the household.
Priror to VDSL2, i was on ADSL2+ which gave me better international speeds all the time, a solid 1.8-2.0mb/s down speed.
So in a nutshell, international speed is rubbish and getting worse, national speed is perfect and appears to stay that way.
Obviously there is no issue with the modem/jackpoint/wiring if i am getting these good speeds nationally.
Done all the obvious many times e.g restart modem, restarted computers, tried different dns etc etc with no change.
Use both windows and mac (win7/win8/osx10.9/ios7) all give same results.
,
Using the Technicolor TG589vn v2 modem supplied by Telecom
Connected at 37,136kb Down/ 10,354kb Up
On the Home Broadband Package - 500gb (which telecom tell me has no speed shaping what so ever)
I in a rural area but that is no issue in this case with the national speeds i can get, post code 7812 to be exact.
Just done a speed test to show what I'm getting right now as i write this

Can i get some thoughts on this? Any ideas as to what i can do to sort this out?
Telecom dont seem overly bothered and blame everything else bar the throttling they obviously have in place it would seem
Look forward to getting some thoughts on this
Cheers
