Port reset won't do much, it is basically "rebooting" the port you're on. Just wait it off, the DSLAM will put you back to speed. Sounds to me you've been rebooting your router so it thought your line was unstable.


Port reset will reset DLM and put it back to the 10 day process and also stated below.

It will rebuild the PVC and reboot the Chorus port plus load the ISP's settings into it.
So if you have a DNS issue with ti automatically assigning sometimes a port reset will fix or slow data transfer. It will also reset DLM why its at it.
