It was just my opinion, based on the ads themselves. Nothing to do with who my employer is or opposition or anything. I'm sorry you felt personally offended by my opinion, BigPipe - not that I understand why though. It's not like I care what people think of Vodafone's ads. I don't like those either.

freitasm: Hey, calm down. I didn't seeany attack in there. More like a stab at the competition with the reference to the customer service thread running parallel to this.

You didn't see any attack in there? It was snide and unnecessary (I'd would have hoped for better from the BP guys). If you don't want negative feedback, then state you only want positive feedback.

For the record, I am perfectly calm.

I am however tired of all the inter ISP/Telco sniping, it's doing the general tone at GZ no favours.

I didn't actually ask for feedback at all, just said "I hope you guys like them".

Anyway, it's a Bigpipe thread on the Bigpipe sub-forum and it's generally considered poor form for employees of ISPs to post insulting  comments ("These atrocities are low-budget and just awful") in other ISPs sub-forums.

You don't see non-VF ISP employees posting insulting comments in threads like this: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=40&TopicId=150461  where VF shows of their latest "epic" big budget ad.

"We hope you like them", posted in a public forum, IS an invitation for feedback, good and bad. I don't think Demeters comments were based on her professional occupation, but her personal opinion of it, you took it to another level.

That's actually not relevant.  She is on here and tagged as an official vodafone employee.  Her comments and posts are interpreted as official vodafone statements.  If she doesn't want to be a VF spokesperson, she shouldn't be tagged as one.

I didn't like them either personally, and felt much the same way, can I now expect an insult about how my business runs?

There was plenty of other feedback in the thread, good and bad (including from you - which didn't get an insult btw).  The only one that got a response like this was the one coming from the official Vodafone source. And the dig back was clearly aimed at Vodafone, not at her personally (unless she is the one who controls VFs budgetry decisions and strategy, which I'm pretty sure she doesn't)

And it was highly topical and relevant response too.  A post from Vodafone talking about how Bigpipe hasn't spent enough money on their ads, on the VERY SAME DAY that vodafone announces they don't have enough money to keep their customer service team employed invites a response, and deserves ridicule IMHO.

If you feel you were in the right, well that's fine. I personally expected better from you. Even if you are right and she was having a dig, you missed an opportunity to be the "bigger man".

This is offtopic (Obviously), I'm ok if you want to continue it off thread, but I don't have much else to say about it.

and Demeter missed an opportunity to be a "bigger woman" and not post insulting things in another ISPs thread, yet you attack Bigpipe instead of her?

I'm sure she'd be pretty upset if another ISP employee had posted in that 'Friday Friday' thread she started with comments like how the ad agency must have been snorting far too much coke to make them think that a Rebecca Black song would still be relevant after 3 years and that the ad was a total and utter abortion, totally forgettable, and huge waste of money that would have been spent on fixing their utterly terrible customer service.  But they didn't do that. They all held back with the insults.  She should have done the same.

Posts like this is why I come here less and less. The dig about Vodafone's customer service probably wouldn't get much of a response from me ordinarily if it weren't for the fact that the current 'topical discussion' affects people close to me (including my husband). So forgive me for taking the obvious bait.

Anyway I'm out.

Not offended, just thought it was pretty ironic for a Vodafone rep to be talking about Bigpipe (a teeny tiny business by comparison) not spending enough on an ad on the very same day Vodafone announces big spending reductions in customer service.

Sorry about your husband. Sucks to go through restructures like this. I've been through plenty in my time.

The story of this actors life:

First he has a date with a girl at burger king until he weirds her out
He has another scary date with a vegetarian
(Notice the way he says me too in both of these ads haha)
Now he has an interesting wedding with a different girl

Each ad he is in is about a date/relationship. Such coincidence

Last time I went through that the managers involved remarked how calm I was about it, when I mentioned it was the 6th time I'd been through the process they understood a bit better :-)

Always sucks, but life goes on, and sometimes you actually survive the restructure  :-) I'm at roughly a 50/50 split after 6 of them, Kept my current position once, got an alternative job twice(although in one of those I disliked it enough to quit before I'd even started the new position), and been made redundant three times, and not once of those three times has been when the buggers would have had to pay me large redundancies :-P
