If only other company's would talk to you like a human as BigPipe does....

Btw, as of 3:15pm my mates connection was upgraded. Might have to go shopping for new hardware for my 35 user Plex server to take advantage of this speed now sealed

Nice guys.  I was on chat with Stuff-Fibre and maybe we will hear something Monday about an upgrade. They said they are currently testing.  But nothing happening today for Stuff-Fibre customers.

Various test to different cities from East Auckland. Test machine hardwired to a Netgear ProSafe Plus switch then to an EdgeRouter PoE.

Sydney

Los Angeles

Hong Kong - This was a very sporadic server.

Dunedin

If there are any other places I should test, let me know.

This thread shows how far internet in NZ has come.  Just a couple of years back the possibility of gigabit would have had us all going wild.  Now we just take the prospect for granted and its all a bit ho hum.  I think we've arrived.

Absolutely! It's a little disorientating after having spent so many years bitching about the internet in NZ... Even international bandwidth has gotten so much better. Will have to find something new to complain about. foot-in-mouth

Or perhaps we can just spend our time laughing at the raging dumpster fire that is the NBN rollout across the ditch... they'll be lucky to have gigabit in 2030.

The fact of the matter is that those LA server results are significantly better than the vast majority of the US can get.

New Zealand is pretty damn awesome!

Yea I'm glad, I wonder if its just due to gigabit or Bigpipe managed to sort out some of the problems we were having. Though I'm still seeing 40 down, 80 up on 200/200. Guess I'll wait for tomorrow to see if it's a lot better

Hopefully this will finally get rid of the whiners who complain about NZ's 3rd world internet like they have been living under a rock reading "cliche weekly".

Hopefully, but unlikely though. Unless we do what Singapore did and do a 100% fibre rollout, there'll always be the "but I live 30 minutes out of town and I don't have fibre!" people.

They probably will provide some subsidized system to allow for those outside of fibre zones to get fibre. Considering in the long run, it will be cheaper for new developments.

Might have been a bit late trying to switch to elite last Wednesday, still on 200/20. Hopefully get the switch this coming week. Getting jealous of everyone's speeds :p

This makes me angry that people on 200/20 are complaining about the delay in getting gig. Was woken up when internet went down because VDSL does its lets resync for 5 mins routine at 4 in the morning.

Its been raining. This is what I get now.

I would fine a meme to put here but its barely functional. My streaming music keeps stuttering. Might have to revert to the locally stored flac collection like its the mid 00's again.
