Jase2985:

you had over 100 on the other page

"Windows 10 app + C3150 V2, even slower :("

dont have a duff network cable?

Not anymore seems to be under 100mbps consistently now :(

Network cables should be fine

Internally PC > Router > NAS I can get full 100mBytes/s

dont assume, change them with known good to rule them out as being the cause of the issue.

but ultimately you know its something on your end, so buy a device known to work

I cant change the wiring inside the house :(
I can only swap the bit that connects the patch panel to the router which I have.

Will be picking up an edgerouter x tmr and give it a go.

"I can only swap the bit that connects the patch panel to the router which I have"

so do that, the likely hood of the wall wiring failing is low because it never gets moved/bumped, the patch cables on the other hand...

wouldnt be the first time a patch cable has caused slow speed

Looks like that's indeed the cause. Would switching to an EdgeRouter X bring any tangible performance gains?

Just an update I pulled the trigger on a RB760iGS from PBTech.

Eventually I would like to move away from All-In-One devices such as the C3150V2 and deploy a couple of UniFi APs around the house (AC-Lite or AC-LR most likely, I have heard LR is better for mobile devices with smaller antennas)

Reasons for going with a RB760iGS over EdgeRouter X are:

  1. It supports 802.3af so I can power it from my TP-Link switch and not use another Power Plug Port in my network cabinet.
  2. Full 2Gbps up/down

Hopefully this goes well. Next up grab me some UniFi APs.

ONT > RB760iGS > TP-Link TL-SG1008P POE Switch powering the Mikrotik + TP-Link C3150V2 as access point > PC (can't remember if PC is connected to the switch or the C3150V2's Lan port)

Originally I was getting 900/500 but for the last few months I've only been getting 500/500, I replaced my Fritzbox with an ER-4 but hasn't had any effect on speeds.

Boot your computer into Linux and ensure you're using Ethernet and try again...
