@freitasm are you able to replicate this issue where you are at the moment, is it quick to replicate or does it sometimes take hours?

@freitasm, did you install the updates, I did not see your response?

My wife has a Sierra Wireless USB (XT) T stick (can't remember the Model), she complains it disconnects several times a day. (Churton Park, Wellington)
She connects to an exchange server, via VPN, though I'm not sure if there's a permanent connection. She has to Send/Receive to update Outlook.

Whakatane, specifically Quay St if that matters.

Installed the updates but haven't used it yet. Off to AKL tomorrow and in WLG CBD on Wednesday so will let you know.

Switching back to Kordia Wireless has made me realise how crappy the experience on XT really was. I was constantly getting timeouts with Google's IMAP servers, now they just work, and e-mails can be moved reliably between folders.

Exactly the same laptop, all that has changed is the internet connection and it has made a world of difference.

Pains me to say it, but the experience on CDMA was far, far better. I could use Skype on CDMA, whereas with XT, my wife kept reporting dropouts in my voice. Most of the time I could hear her OK, but it seems there is a high degree of packet loss in the outwards direction.

Which APN were you using? I used Ventrilo (more of a conference-call style app) a couple of months ago and needed to use direct.telecom.co.nz, but it seemed to work well enough.

Don't know.  The default one which comes installed with the ZTE software I guess.

The disconnections have been noticed, and finally I got one of every data card delivered, I will be running logs and tests all day to determine why this is happening, its definantly an issue on the network side of things, I have a fair idea whats causing it but will update later. updating software ect isn't going to help.

J0sh, are you south of taupo, if so I can run a trace on your device which would be helpful in detecting where the issue is, that is if you can replicate the issue

Not a disconnection but it's 18th Nov 2009, 09:54 and it seems Telecom XT lost connectivity to domains/servers hosted outside New Zealand. Actually not even http://yt.telecom.co.nz/mobile/view/account-info-view is loading for me now. Geekzone is loading but anythning hosted overses is stuffed with a DNS error.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me many times.  I was intrigued that even Your Telecom wouldn't load as I assumed it was internal to Telecom's network.

I am returning to Auckland on Friday, so should be able to help with running further tests if required.
